Aasimar Dnd

Aasimar (pronounced ah-sih-mar) are mortals who carry a spark of the upper planes within their souls. Mar 14, 2025i made a character using the dnd beyond sheet and chose druid, ranger, guide, then the only option for aasimar was a variant. In the 2024 rules there is aasimar, not variant listed.

Can any race be aasimar and teifling? Like can you be an aasimar that is an orc or a teifling that looks like a dwarf or firbolg? One of my players wants to play as an aasimar, specifically a fallen aasimar.

But, despite reading up on aasimar, i'm really not sure what they are. I hate aasimar as a dungeon master. Oct 22, 2023i think there was an option for this at some point in the past versions of dnd.

The rationale/mechanic were a choice at 5th lvl, where you could give up the aasimar type racial ability. May 4, 2023so i’m relatively new to roleplaying and the l o r e of dnd or whatever, but i was thinking about the radiant soul ability that protector aasimar.
