Magistrate Bexar

My headcanon (and it is entirely headcanon) is that, given his background swap from noble to charlatan, he had originally conned his way into the position of magistrate in the first place. I'm thinking about applying to be a magistrate, and just wondered if anyone here has any first-hand experience that. I do hope in some future dlc/patch we can learn more about his past as a magistrate.
